Prospect Spotlight: Tre’Von Martin (2020)
Already with one Division offer to his name, Silverado sophomore Tre’von Martin could have a stockpile of them before his high school career is done.
The 6-foot-4 guard picked up an offer from Tennessee Tech just a couple months ago. The Golden Eagles undoubtedly like his size, and combo of sharpshooting ability and slashing.
His tight handle and improving court-vision is a perk, too.
“I think I shoot the ball very well, and I can take it to the basket and pass it. I can actually run point guard and shooting guard,” said Martin.
“I’m in the gym 24/7 just working on point guard pick-and-rolls and things like that.”
It was with the Las Vegas Punishers this past spring and summer when Martin really was able to showcase himself. Then, again, at the Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp.
In general, he’s pleased with how his offseason went.
“My 15U season went well. My role with the Punishers was to bring up the ball and run in transition,” said Martin. “We were always trying to get the ball quickly up the court.”
Practice started last week for the Skyhawks, and the first game will be later this month. Martin is eager to show what he learned from his sixth-man role from a season ago; a big sophomore season could be in store for the talented wing.
“My role will probably be to play the one through the three, I’ll play multiple positions. And I just need to help my teammates out as best I can,” he said. “We should have a pretty good season this year.”
