Prospect Spotlight: Michael Cemazar (2021)
When it comes to basketball players today, sometimes an old fashioned player is refreshing. In addition, an old fashioned type of player can be the best option. Michael Cemazar may be a young man, but he certainly fits the description of a player of yesteryear.
Michael Cemazar is a freshman at Linden High School. He is a 5-9 point guard who thrives with the ball in his hand setting up the offense. Cemazar chooses the efficient high quality pass over a risky pass that may induce a higher turnover rate. He has the ability to be a lockdown defender especially in the half court. Cemazar is a solid shooter who has a very high basketball IQ.
Michael Cemazar takes pride in the work he does to improve his game. He has put up 750 shots a day through the spring and the summer. He is in exceptional physical condition which has been maintained by weightlifting, dieting, and jump rope. Cemazar has consistently ran sprints and 5-10 miles a day. He also regularly watches film and enjoys being a student of the game.
Cemazar is ready for his freshman season. He cherishes the camaraderie involved in the game of basketball. When asked what his best moment in basketball has been, he said: “The guys. All bring energy to get each other better.” Cemazar is looking forward to playing against Fenton and Holly because of the intensity in these two matchups. He wants to win as much as possible, be the best he can be, and move up in the rankings.
Michael Cemazar is a talented young point guard. He is motivated by his grandfather who was always very important to him. “He was an amazing role model who always found the positives. I know if he was still here he would push me every single day,” said Cemazar. The old fashioned point guard has a lot to offer his high school team and in the future, a college program. He brings intensity, a good shooter, and someone who makes his teammates better.
