Prospect Spotlight: Jamond Vincent (2020)
An up-and-coming 6-foot-2 guard, Landry Walker freshman Jamond Vincent could be one of Louisiana’s most impactful freshman season.
And after a spring and summer playing with Elfrid Payton Elite, he’s now ready to make his name known in the Pelican State.
PHLA recently caught up with the talented 2021, and he defined what it is that makes him such a dynamic threat.
“I’m kind of like an all-around player, I can do everything: defense, block shots, I can shoot a little bit, steals, I get rebounds. I’m just all over the floor,” said Vincent.
“I need to work more on ball-handling, that’s my weakness.”
This past spring and summer while playing Elfrid Payton Elite 14U, Vincent was able to sharpen his skill-set and better prepare for himself for the start of what should be a very promising high school career
“Elfrid Payton was a great environment to play in, and they would look to me sometimes when we needed a key bucket and things like that,” said Vincent, who laid out his freshman season expectations.
“They’re (Landry Walker) going to have me playing the two the three and the four with the varsity, I’ll rotate between those positions. I’ll come off the bench, and I’ll just keep working and try and get into the starting lineup.”
Vincent added: “And my goal is to work everyday, and just keep getting better.”
