Prospect Spotlight: Isaiah Hollins-Maton (2018)
One of the best things about high school basketball is the intensity in which it is played. Some high school players perform with such ferocity that it becomes a strength in their game. Isaiah Hollins-Maton is one such player.
Hollins-Maton is a 6-1 senior guard for Oak Park. His defense is excellent, in part due to his intensity level. He has a good shot from behind the arc and likes to drive and look for a kick out to an open teammate. Hollins-Maton is working to improve his ball handling. He is a natural in the spotlight. “My first dunk in a high school game was my best moment,” he said. Hollins-Maton looks forward to playing against Flint Beecher this season.
Isaiah Hollins-Maton has very important goals in his life. He likes to help his little brothers improve their games so they can play and experience the sport the way he has. Hollins-Maton simply wants to be the best player he can be. He is motivated by his mother and he wants to provide for her in the future and make sure that he can make her life as easy as possible. “I want to get better as a person off the court,” he said. On the court, Hollins-Maton has dreams of the Breslin Center and a championship.
Isaiah Hollins-Maton has a lot to offer a team. He has an intensity and a desire to be successful that can rub off on teammates. Hollins-Maton is a young man that could be on the verge of a breakout season.
