Prospect Spotlight: Gerald Boston Jr. (2019)
Gerald Boston Jr
HT 6’3 WT 165
Position SG Class 2019
Lynnwood High School
Gerald is a very balanced guard that can shoot, pass, rebound and play defense. His length and speed are traits that make him one of the better athletes in the state. He has a very good vertical that gives him the ability to finish above the rim and block opponents shots as well. Gerald also has a knack of knowing when to pass instead of shoot as well.
He has become an elite prospect. Boston Jr. has developed into a smooth combo guard, now running more point guard, creating plays off the dribble. With his ability to shoot the jump shot and create for his teammates, Gerald is due for a big time offer pretty soon.
I got a chance to interview the young man and find out a little bit more about his game. He speaks highly about continuing to work on his game as the season comes into full swing.
Please in detail, explain your strengths and weaknesses?
“I have some very good array of offensive moves, good passer, above average shot blocker and rebounder for his height. Extremely coachable, willing to improve all areas of his game and a good teammate.”
What are looking to focus on during the off-season?
“Off season focuses were defensive positioning, ball handling and physical training. He works hard in the off-season on all areas of his game.”
What AAU organization are you playing for?
“I play for an elite organization called Fuego based out of Newcastle. The season just ended and it went very well for his team and him individually.”
How is recruiting going for you so far?
“Recruiting is slow, but recently he has drawn some interest from some small schools and EWU invited him to their camp back in August. I have not played in very many viewing tournaments. However, I am scheduled to attend an exposure camp in November.”
