Prospect Spotlight: DeAngelos Page (2018)
Melvindale High School is anticipating a big season in 2017-2018. DeAngelos Page will have a large role in their success. The senior is a 6-4 small forward and shooting guard. He is a shooter at heart and can hit a jumper anywhere from mid range to behind the arc. Page also has good court vision which makes him a dual threat from the perimeter. He has good size and strength which translates well to the next level. Page is working on his ball handling which would give him the ability to create more shots, and make him even more dangerous from the perimeter.
DeAngelos Page has been preparing for the 2017-2018 season since the spring. He was in the gym whenever the opportunity arose, working out with his older brother and with Fernando Hernandez. Page played on the AAU circuit, which allowed him to put his improved skills on display during games. He has also worked diligently on his diet to make sure he’s in prime physical condition during high school season.
DeAngelos Page and his teams have been successful and he looks forward to continuing that this year. “My best moment would have to be winning the Downriver League title with my brothers and the crowd storming the floor,” he said. Page is anticipating this seasons matchup with Wyandotte. “People are saying they will be the best team DR and I want to go out and show differently,” he said.
Page simply wants to compete. He loves the game of basketball and wants to continue to do so at the college level. Page anticipates receiving academic scholarships and further pursuing his interests in college. He can bring a college team a physically strong player who can shoot from anywhere. DeAngelos Page will bring intensity and leadership to a college team. He is motivated to be successful by his older brother. This motivation has led to great improvements in his game that will certainly continue.
