Prospect Spotlight: David Sloan (JUCO)
John A Logan CC freshman point guard David Sloan is a prospect that was highly touted out of high school and is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. He should be a dynamic playmaker for Logan this season at the lead guard spot. Sloan is a fast guard that pushes it in the open floor weaving in and out of the defense. Best playing in the transition game where he can use his speed, vision, and explosion to beat a defense in a variety of ways. Takes it to the hoop with authority off the dribble where he finishes very well with acrobatics. Defensively he has active hands getting deflections and steals. Mid-major prospect for sure after a couple years at Logan.
Sloan spoke with PrepHoops about how it is going early on with his new team at Logan.
“It is going good. We are getting along with everybody. We are working hard together. We have went through a lot since we got here.”
What does he see his role being this year?
“Leading the team and communicating. I have to communicate better. Coach has been helping me with that. Trying to get my teammates in the right places.”
Sloan broke down the strengths of his game.
“I pass the ball very well, but I can score when I have too. My main thing I love to do is pass the ball and get my teammates going because that is what gets me going.”
