Pre-Season Point Guard Watch – player notes
Before the season tips off, we take a look at the top point guards from the senior class of 2018. These are individuals who are being recruited at a high level and will hold a strong impact for their teams this season. There are some names that could definitley be on this list, but came up short. Check out our Class of 2018 rankings to see the point guards that didn’t make it!
Senior point guard Eddie Turner is prepared for a strong senior showcase.
Turner is a shifty guard who has the impact to make others around him better. He does really well in finding ways to get guys the ball in perfect spots on the floor. He explodes out of his moves to burst past defenders and really pushes the break in transition. Turner is a high level point guard with an excellent basketball IQ.
Trevante Anderson – Rainier Beach, 6’2
Anderson is a scoring guard, with a good feel for the game. He’s a knock down shooter, who can make plays off the dribble for his teammates. He has solid vision and can also play off the ball, ready to shoot. Anderson steps into a big role for the Vikings. He holds an offer from Montana, but hasn’t chose a school yet.
Brock Mackenzie – Eastside Catholic, 6’2 (Point Loma Nazarene Commit)
Mackenzie is a lights out shooter and can really get in going on offense. He has the ability to score off ball or off the dribble. He’s a great leader, that’s can make his teammates better. Mackenzie has committed to Point Loma Nazarene.
Khyree Armstead – Mountlake Terrace, 6’4
Armstead is a bigger guard, that pushes the break really well. He’s has good vision and advances the ball up court quick. He gets into the paint, using his tight handle and is a solid shooter, pulling up off the dribble. Armstead looks to make nous this season and pick up more looks. He is undecided on his college choice.
Cameron Tyson – Bothell, 6’3
Tyson is more of a combo guard, with his ability to shoot the ball at a consistent rate. The lights out shooter, is a high volume scorer and moves well without the ball. He is a scoring guard, who leads his team well. He’s vocal and plays with a ton of passion. Tyson holds a lot of interest but has yet to make a decision.
