Seeing a player throw down a powerful dunk is a special part of high school basketball. We are going to look at one of the prolific dunkers in Michigan high school basketball. Herbert Simpson is a 6-0 junior at Berkley High School.
Question: What is your favorite dunk?
Herbert Simpson: My favorite dunk is the 360 scoop.
Question: What do you think makes you a great dunker?
Herbert Simpson: To me, a great dunker is someone who can rise up with power. Elevate. And make a statement with the dunk.
Question: At what age did you first dunk?
Herbert Simpson: 8th grade before ankle injuries.
Question: What is your most memorable dunk?
Herbert Simpson: My most memorable dunk is my first dunk, just getting it after many attempts.
Question: What are three other strengths of your game?
Herbert Simpson: Three strengths to my game is passing, attacking the basketball, defending.
Question: Do you think a dunk has a big effect on a game?
Herbert Simpson: I think a dunk could have a major effect on a game. It could be a turning point and being crazy energy to the gym!
