Class of 2020 Dream Team
The term ‘Dream Team’ became popular with the creation of the 1992 men’s Olympic basketball team. This will be a version of a Dream Team for the state of Michigan’s class of 2020. If given the task of filling a 12 man roster and building a winning team out of this class, this is the direction I may take:
Starting Lineup:
G- Jalen Terry (5-11, Flint Beecher)
He’s a proven winner and a playmaker. He’d be the head of the snake on both ends of the floor.
G- Trell Fordham (6-4, Goodrich)
A smooth athlete who has the ability to play on the wing and can handle the ball.
F- Carlos Johnson (6-6, Benton Harbor)
Every lineup needs a player who can do it all. Score, rebound, defense…..he bring them all to the starting lineup.
F- Isaiah Jackson (6-7, Old Redford)
He’s an athlete with a big skill set. He’d bring a lot of versatility to the starting 5 and create matchup problems for opponents.
C- Matt Nicholson (6-10, Clarkston)
He’s a great fit next to athletic forwards. He is also a good finisher who can provide options to a dynamic point guard.
Roster:
G- Wendell Green Jr. (5-10, Detroit Country Day)
Of course I’d take another playmaking point guard who should be considered one of the best in the country.
G- Kevin-David Rice
Every team needs a smooth scorer.
F- Connor Bush (6-6, Belleville)
He’s an energy player with no off switch.
F- William Dunn (6-7, Quincy)
His blend of size and skills bring diversity to the team.
C- Aundre Polk (6-8, Old Redford)
Huge wingspan allows him to rebound effectively and has a mid range game.
G- Steve Pearson (6-2, Detroit Northwestern)
The definition of an athlete…he can play in the open floor and jump through the roof.
F- Maliq Carr (6-6, Oak Park)
He is strong and physical, not to mention an all around athlete that can score and defend.
