Carvers Bay Bears Jamboree – Day 3
The final day of the Carver’s Bay Bears Jamboree wrapped up tonight. Bears Head Coach Jeff Mezzatesta out did himself once again this season with the 3 day Jamboree covering over 40 plus teams. The Bears Jamboree gave Prep Hoops SC a chance to see 16 varsity boys basketball teams.
Quinton Alston (2018) – Kingstree HS (pictured on front)
Alston is a like a swiss army knive he can do a bit of everything on the floor. Alston earlier in the name was named to the SCBCA 2-A Preseason Team in Columbia, SC. Alston 6’5 averaged 18.9 ppg last season for the Jaguars. Alston has received a offer from Claflin (SC) (NCAA D2) according to Head Coach Earl Brown Jr.
Alston recorded 22 receptions – 649 yards and 8 touchdowns this season. Brown is a 3-sport athlete also excelling on the baseball diamond.
Jordan Cantey (2018) – Kingstree HS
Cantey 6’6 is playing with his back to the basket more this season with Coach Brown Jr at the helm. Cantey last year played out on the wing. Cantey averaged 12.9 ppg and 5.8 rebounds last season for the Jaguars. Cantey has very solid academics in the class room.
Koby Fulton (2018) – Kingstree HS
Fulton is a former New York City point guard. Fulton 6’3 started his career at Wadleigh HS in Manhattan. Fulton has good size for a guard and sees over defenders very well. Fulton will play with some swag and seems to be better suited for more of a open style of play.
Ahmaud King (2018) – North Charleston HS
King is a new arrival for the Cougars after coming over from Berkeley HS. King a shifty point guard can really keep the ball on a string. King needs to at times settle down and play under control but, the effort is always there. King excelled on the gridiron for the Cougars this season and had over 35 receptions and 600 plus yards.
Darjawuan Brown (2020) – North Charleston HS
Brown is back after averaging 16.2 ppg and 6 rebounds last season for the Cougars. Brown and Murray are the future for Head Coach Chris Brown. Brown played AAU with Big Shots South Carolina 15 this summer. Brown can create his own shot and get into the lane when he wants to at times.
Dashawn Murray (2020) – North Charleston HS
Murray has a HIGH MOTOR at all times on the floor. Murray averaged 11.2 ppg and 8 rebounds last season for the Cougars. Murray needs to work on his perimeter skills but he’s constantly around the ball while its on the floor or on the glass.
