10 Best : Pinewood Prep vs Stall HS
Pinewood Prep made the trip down from Summerville to play in the Championship Game of the 11th annual Stall Holiday Tourney. The Warriors and Head Coach Mike Breedlove were ready for this game from the get go. The Warriors cruised out to 23-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.
The Warriors kept piling it on the amd led 40-22 with 1:20 left before before Pinewood Prep Head Coach Pat Eidson got hit with a technical foul. The Warriors led 44-28 at halftime and quickly jumped out to 60-34 lead at the 4;48 mark of the 3rd quarter after Jalen Bailey (2019) connected 3 second half three pointers and a Romello Grant layup.
The Warriors would never let the Panthers in the game and actually won the game 86-73 despite missing several free throws in the game.
MVP :Romello Grant (2019) Stall HS
Grant was a man today in the paint for the Warriors. Grant finished with 30 points and scored all of his baskets 15 of them all from 2 feet and in all 2 point baskets. Grant was (15-19) from the floor.
Play of the Game : Tyshon Richardson (2019) Stall HS
Richardson came out of nowhere and blocked a shot Panthers player shot that was thrown into the wall. Richardson is just a athletic player with no true floor position. Richardson does his best work around the cup.
Best Offensive Performance :Romello Grant (2019) Stall HS
Grant did it all fro the Warriors today. Grant finished the game with 30 points and a ton of rebounds. Grant played last season at Military Magnet.
Best Defensive Performance : Jalen Slawson (2018) Pinewood Prep
Slawson finished with 17 points in the lost can rebound and block shots like no other. The Furman signee defended the pasing lanes and just couldnt help his teammates pick up the slack on the offensive end today.
Best Guy off the Bench :Ja-Saun Pryor (2019) Pinewood Prep
Pryor scored 7 points after coming off the bench. Pryor 6’3 played last season at Woodland HS.
Best Underclassmen :Cohen Gaskins (2021) Pinewood Prep
Gaskins saw minutes last season as a 8th grader but those minutes will go up this season. Gaskins was playing on the ball for the Panthers and will have to more this season.
Best Guy Under the Radar : Jalen Bailey (2019) Stall HS
Bailey came out smoking in the 2nd half and connected on 3 quick three pointers for the Warriors. Bailey a left-handed combo guard finished the evening with 16 points. Bailey played at Military Magnet last season with Grant.
Best Project :Seth Rivers (2019) Stall HS
Rivers is improving everyday in the paint for the Warriors. Rivers fouled out with 6 points at the 5’52 mark of the 4th quarter. Rivers connected on a few nice jump hooks in the paint. Rivers 6’6 must get better lift and stay out of foul trouble.
Best Small College Player :Walker Lima (2018) Pinewood Prep
Lima a shooting guard will look to head back out to Utah when he is done with high school according to his father. Lima finished with 7 points.
Takeaway :
Stall HS could possibly be a new team on the block in Chuck Town this season. The Warriors play a exciting press and get in your face type of game. The Warriors have a great leader in 5’7 point guard Bryan Ward (2018).
Pinewood Prep needs to find some help to go with Furman signee Jalen Slawson. The Panthers really lack leadership in the back court.
