Warwick Workouts College Prospect Camp – Wings Breakdown
Time to review some of the wing players that displayed their perimeter abilities. These guys really showed out and demonstrated the ability to score, defend and play with lots of energy. There was lots of athleticism, however these kids stood out for multiple reasons.
Trey King, Irene-Wakonda (SD) 2019 – Strong and compact, did a good job defending. King found a way to get the job done multiple ways all day. Went on a run in 1 on 1 competition where he scored five plus times in a row. He showed an ability to handle contact and finish at the rim. Good rebounder coming down from the perimeter.
Mason Jung, Millard North (NE) 2019 – Freaky athletic and ran the floor well. Has an ability to guard strong, athletic guards as he was one of the most complete athletes in camp. Best skill set is attacking the basket and finishing at or above the rim. Capable shooter and scorer if he is playing off a good creator at PG.
Robert Mosey, Sioux City West (IA) 2019 – Long and athletic, runs well and can really jump. Mosey was a nice slasher and can score the ball in the open court or in 1 on 1 situations very well. Jump shot will improve over time but if your idea of a solid wing is someone who can add the element of finishing at the rim and rebound, he’s got a shot.
Joseph Manchester, Blair (NE) 2019 – Tough, strong body who showed he can shoot the ball when you give him a look. Repeatedly knocked down open jumpers in all of the competition elements of camp. Also showed toughness rebounding and getting on loose balls. Decent athleticsm, but his IQ and intangibles stuck out.
Manny Tor, Sioux Falls O’Gorman (SD) 2018 – Strong body and uses it well. Competed his tail off the entire time he was on the floor. Did a nice job creating paint touches off the bounce and finding the correct open man if the finish wasn’t there. He was on loose balls and playing through the whistle…. he’ll compete for sure.
Dawson Paulsen, Rapid City Stevens (SD) 2019 – Lefty, energy, enthusiasm and toughness…. what else do we need to say? Paulsen displayed a good shooting ability and uses both hands well. Did nice job in the 3 v 3 session and can rebound well at his size. Will continue to improve with more game minutes and maturity.
