Warwick Workouts College Prospect Camp – Forwards Breakdown
Today we breakdown the forwards from the Warwick Workouts College Prospect Camp that took place October 7th, 2017 in Sioux Falls, SD.
There was some great size and athleticism displayed during the event. The thing that stood out the most was the versatility and overall skill level shown from the bigger players. We are including players that we see as a post, skilled forward or stretch four man.
Jacob Vis, Western Christian HS (IA) 2019 – He is big, long and sneaky athletic. Vis, at 6’7’’, displayed lots of ball skills in the open court and showed a nice shooting stroke. Has good hands and makes good decisions both in the post and in pick and roll situations. Vis also displayed good basketball IQ in both the 4 v 4 ball screen session and the live 5 v 5 periods.
Camden Bialas, Parker HS (SD) 2019 – Tallest and longest player at the camp. At 6’9’’, Bialas has excellent touch around the basket with both hands. The left handed player has a good sense on the block vs a live defender and sees the floor pretty well. He will get stronger with time; HUGE upside.
Drew Cole, Brookings HS (SD) 2019 – One of the best face up forwards in the region. Very good shooter from 15-17 feet and has the ability to pick and pop and spread the floor. At about 6’6’’, Cole can really be a threat from outside the paint. Good feet around the basket and will continue to finish at a high level as he gets stronger.
Elijah Williams, Rapid City Central HS (SD) 2019 – Probably the most athletic big that was at the event. 6’6’’, can run like a deer and is a big time leaper. Skilled with ball and is a capable shooter, however that is one area that will continue to improve. Has a good feel for screening and sealing a defender. Williams will only get better with more reps and playing time.
Akoi Akoi, Sioux Falls O’Gorman HS (SD) 2020 – Maybe the player that overall has the highest ceiling. His skill set and athletic ability was very intriguing. He did well on the block and in 1 on 1 situations with longer, bigger players. He showed flashes of a higher collegiate level 6’6”, 3/4 man. Shoots it well and is very explosive with the ball attacking the rim.
Will Moore, Rapid City Stevens HS (SD) 2019 – He may have been the one that turned eyes the most. Although one might argure he is barely a big, the 6’5’’ Moore has grown a lot over the past couple years. He has the most guard-like skill set and really shoots it well. More athletic that one might guess and has plenty of upside. Might be more of a 3/4 hybrid, but today he’s in with our ‘bigs’.
