Recruiting Report: Tyler Joest (2018)
Breese Central 2018 center Tyler Joest is a skilled face up post that stretches the floor with his perimeter shooting. Very effective in the pick and pop hitting shots with ease. The Breese Central senior can really stroke it with a quick trigger and high release point. Definitely going to be a face up shooting big man at the next level, but shows some athleticism handling it some off the bounce from 18 feet and in. Improving athlete that will need to add significant strength at the next level. He is a priority small college post prospect.
He ran with Gateway Illinois on the circuit this summer.
“It went pretty good. We struggled a little early in July getting back in the swing of things, but overall we did good. We moved the ball and got everyone looks.”
Joest saw major improvement in his skill game.
“I extended my game to the mid-range and three point line. Not playing just inside. I feel I am more diverse coming out of the summer.”
What does he think he will bring to a team in college?
“I feel I can bring my face up game. I can face up, put the ball on the floor, get to the hole, and look for others.”
He has several colleges keeping in contact with him.
“I have some D2 and NAIA schools. Davenport, William Woods, Lindenwood Belleville, and Carson-Newman.”
He went on a visit to Carson-Newman. What will he look for in a school?
“A school where I can impact right away as a player.”
