Recruiting Report: Noah Applegate (2019)
The South Bend area is one that doesn’t get talked about near enough with regards to talent. You already have four college programs in the metropolitan area with Notre Dame, IU-South Bend, Holy Cross, and Bethel College. They recruit that area well but there are still players that go under-the-radar from a state-wide perspective.
One guy who needs to be known as his recruiting keeps building up is Penn (IN) forward Noah Applegate. The 6’6 forward is a new school forward who can play inside but still be a wing type with his handles and shooting ability. Noah is a player that can mix-and-match his game pretty well and knows what he does well rather than expanding into unknown territory.
He’s been on the local radar for some time now but his recruiting is starting to pick up recently as Toledo, Kansas State, and Indiana State have shown some interest. That interest was helped as he played well for Indy Heat 2019 this summer on a national circuit.
“Playing with (Indy Heat) was a great opportunity to play in front of top tier college coaches,” Noah said of his AAU team. “Practicing and playing against the best kids in the country definitely helped my game. Hopefully, I will have a better opportunity to show everything I can do this coming summer.”
This will be a big season as he will be an even bigger part of Penn’s season. He’s been a Varsity player since he was a freshman but this time around, this is his team. Coming off a big summer, Applegate could see a big winter coming.
