Recruiting Report: Moses Ngodock (2019)
Currently checking in at No.7 in Louisiana’s 2019 rankings, 6-foot-7 forward Moses Ngodock has quickly become one of the state’s hottest young prospects.
The Northshore junior picked up his first Division I offer this past summer from Southeastern, and that could be the first of many he receives over the next 12 months.
“I have interest from New Orleans, University of Memphis, and I had interest from NC State, and that was from the coach that is now at Memphis. And I’ve gotten a lot of letters from Stanford,” said Ngodock.
“Over the next year, I aspire for the recruiting to really pick up, and to get more offers from high level schools.”
Formerly a big-man, Ngodock still has the skill-set to dominate in the paint at the high school level, but has worked to become a wing over the past couple of years.
“I can play inside, when I started playing basketball, that’s what I did. But I’ve developed my game to where I’m not only a center anymore, like a four or a three is what I describe myself as,” he said.
“I’ve been working on dribbling and shooting off the dribble and things like that. The goal is to become a full legit wing player, and I feel like I’ve achieved that.”
He spent his spring and summer playing on the Under Armour circuit with Louisiana Elite 16U, and learned what it takes to play against the nation’s top talent each time he steps on the floor.
“I liked playing with that team, it showed me a lot,” said Ngodock. “I liked the experience, it was one of the top teams for our age group, and playing at that level showed me the intensity you need each time out”
Now, as he heads into his upperclassmen years at Northshore, it’s leadership he will bring to the table.
“Being a leader on the team is a step I’m taking now as a junior. And the goal is to get to the playoffs and make a deep run,” said Ngodock.
“And I just want to take everything that I’ve learned and go out and make this my breakout year.”
