Recruiting Report: Kaden Koski (2018)
We identified a talented 2018 trio from Byron at last spring’s Stock-Up Showcase event. They’ve got tough and skilled guards in Mike Coble and Bjorn Knutson, and Kaden Koski provides size up front at about 6-6 or 6-7.
The first two guys play football for the Bears, but K0ski has been training separately in preparation for his senior hoops season. Northstar Hoops reached out for an update.
“I’m not in any sports this fall, but I’ve been hitting the weights quite a bit,” Koski told us. “Last year I was at 188 pounds, and now I’m at 203. I need to work on more speed and footwork. I’m doing a fall league with Minnesota Nice, too. I’ve always been skinny, and it is tough to put on weight, but it’s getting there.”
Koski visits the Rochester Athletic Club with a trainer as well as lifting weights at Byron High School. He’s getting ready for what he hopes will be a big senior year for the team and himself.
“I’ve been hearing quite a bit from a lot of D3s,” he said of his recruitment. “Me and the Saint Mary’s coach have been talking quite a bit along with the Jamestown Jimmies.”
He went on to detail more about what he’s looking for at the next level. He hopes to make a decision during or after this winter season.
“I feel like it’s most important to fit in with the team and getting a good vibe with players and coaches. I want it to feel like a family. School-wise, I want to do something like business management and find some success along the way.”
