Recruiting Report: Cameron Alford (2019)
The west side of Indianapolis has been one of the lesser producers of talent in the Indianapolis area but recently you have seen the talent get better and better. One more name to keep an eye on in Brownsburg’s Cameron Alford.
Alford, a 6’0 lead guard, is among the better point guard options in the class for Indiana. He’s a bigger guard with plenty of strength and scoring ability. He’s a little attack heavy right now but he’s shown better decision making and become a guy you can count on. Brownsburg will look to him as a veteran presence this season but at the same time, rely on his scoring ability as they look to have their best season in a few years with a loaded roster.
Recently, Alford was able to take a visit to DePaul. The Blue Devils have been working the state of Indiana a bunch the last few years and have landed a few. Now, Alford is on their radar and he likes what they have to offer.
“Watched them practice and view the campus,” Cameron said of his visit to DePaul. “They just showed me how I would fit into the offense. Me and my parents loved it.”
Along with DePaul, Belmont, UW-Milwaukee, and Ball State are showing some level of interest now. He could have a big junior season to help boost his stock while he looks to pull in his first offer. Things are starting to get going as Alford gets prepared for his upcoming season at Brownsburg.
