Recruiting Report: Caleb Redman (2019)
As we continue our look our look through the talented 2019 class, we keep finding hidden gems of sorts. Guys further down the list when in any other year would be among the top of the class. One that caught our eye over the summer is Indianapolis Pike (IN) guard Caleb Redman.
The talented guard is one of those guys that has really impressed every time we have been able to see him. He’s had a ton of scoring ability and put up some big point totals. It has drawn the eye of our staff but also college coaches around the Midwest. Schools like Lipscomb, Kent State, and Valparaiso have all been in contact and have made the trip to Indianapolis to take a look at him.
Recently, Lipscomb was in town to take a look at the emerging scoring guard. Caleb said he is looking at returning the favor with a possible trip to Lipscomb this Fall.
Schools are being attracted to Redman as he’s a long, lean 6’1 guard that has the ability to really score from all over the court. This past summer, he played with Grand Park 2019-Pace and was a threat to put up numbers every time on the court. He had a huge game against Pocket City 2019 this summer where he put up 45 points in a contest.
Where things will get interesting with him is how he does with Indianapolis Pike this winter. They are known as a very deep program, especially at the guard spots. He is coming in as a Junior while being more of a JV player this past season. However, even as a JV player he put up some big numbers and was consistently a top scorer for them.
His jump shot is the biggest tool in his arsenal right now. He’s pretty solid as a ball handler and can look to create more and more effectively in the half court as opposed to the transition game. He’s got a chance to take another step as his mid-range develops and he is able to add in more game outside of his shooting ability. Redman is one to key a close eye on this winter.
