Prospect Spotlight: Thomas Henderson
At every level of basketball, there are players that are simply fun to watch. Thomas Henderson is one of those players. He is a 6-2 point guard for Detroit Public Safety Academy. He is a player from the class of 2019 that has one of the highest ceilings in regards to development of his game.
Thomas Henderson is explosive. He has the ability to get red hot from behind the arc and his range is limitless. I compare his game to Steph Curry. While he can handle the ball and run an offense from the point, he can also play off the ball as well. He has expanded his game and started attacking the basket, where he likes to draw defenders and find open teammates. He is currently working to improve on the defensive end.
If a college coach wants a kid who has the talent, loves the game, and cares about the people around him…..then Thomas Henderson should be contacted. “My interests off the court is to be more focused and try to help others more. Character is everything,” he said.
Thomas Henderson wants to reach the epitome of success in basketball. “My long term goal with basketball is to take it all the way to the top,” he said. That being said, he understands the process behind that goal. “My goals for this upcoming season is to bring everyone together as a team and try to make the run we made last year but even better and go get what’s ours. My goals individually are to showcase my skills, work more on my game, become better each day on and off the court, and make this a season to remember for everyone,” Henderson said.
While Thomas Henderson can bring an explosive offensive game to the next level, he actually can provide much more. He is tough and aggressive as a player. As a person he is a program player who can be counted on to help his team and school in any way possible.
