Prospect Spotlight: Quentin Young (2019)
Class of 2019, 6’0 guard Quentin Young will have to run the show for Bothell High this season. He will propel them on both ends of the floor. He will have to be the glue guy defensively and the spark plug offensively.
Quentin is a leader on the court. He is an athletic, quick guard who attacks the rim with force and displays strong defensive skill sets. He has a solid mid-range and 3 point jump shot and is a very dynamic player that is considered to be an electrifying offensive weapon in the open court due to his great speed, quickness and offensive abilities. As cited from the Ballislife 2015 Jr. All American Final Assessment: “Quentin possesses a special IQ and court vision on the court and demonstrates a strong ability to locate the open man on the court.” Quentin is particularly adept at adjusting his playing style to fit the situation i.e. Quentin can play very effectively at a high rapid pace and is equally effective at operating within a systematic half court offensive. This ability, basketball IQ and skill level has allowed Quentin to effectively move between the two approaches during the game, without losing his ability to finish aggressively offensively.
Quentin’s recruitment has escalated significantly in recent months. He has some major interest from some low major D1 and D2 schools across the west coast. As he continues to grow and develop I do believe those interest will turn in to offers and he should find himself with some Mid-major D1 offers.
“My strength is my ability to make others better on the court along with create my own shot. I’ve always been a scorer but this year, I have been working on being solid on both ends of the floor.”
What can Young bring to a college program?
“I believe that I can bring a lot of athleticism offensively and defensively. Someone who is coachable and will do whatever it takes to become a better player and help out team win games.”
