Prospect Spotlight: Nolan Niego (2019)
Nolan Niego is the next one in a long line of Niego brothers at Lyons Township High School. Everything he does is crisp and purposeful. The 2019 lead guard has an advanced feel for the game and gets others involved with his passing. As a scorer he is a sound perimeter shooter with a clean looking stroke. His leadership and basketball IQ are off the charts.
He ran the show for Chicago Lockdown 16U this summer.
“It was fun. I grew as a leader and a player. My role grew as guys fell off due to injury and sickness. I felt I overall benefitted from that role.”
Where did he see the biggest growth as a player?
“Definitely becoming more of a floor leader. I had to take over the one position because our main one got injured. Moving the ball and communicating more both on offense and defense. Shooting with a hand in my face. Overall just the scoring aspect of my game.”
He is excited for this upcoming season at Lyons Township!
“We are lifting every day and shooting every day. We are going up and down. It is really competitive. I love the grind and am looking forward to the season.”
