Prospect Spotlight: Kortez Williams (2018)
Some players know how to find the path to success. Kortez Williams is one of those athletes. The senior point guard from Lansing Sexton has found his path to success. He has become a great basketball player as well as a great student. He has surrounded himself with knowledgeable people that will help him reach his goals.
Kortez Williams is best with the ball in his hands. He has good straight line speed and a quick first step allows him to attack the basket and finish or dish to a teammate. Williams has a solid midrange jumper as well. Since he often finds himself in the lane, he is working to improve his rebounding.
Kortez Williams has been working out with former Michigan State guard Eron Harris. This has brought drastic improvements to his game. “I usually work out with my older brother Eron Harris. He played for MSU so he’s really teaching me things to do on and off the court,” Williams said. This experience has created a basketball player who is wise beyond his years.
Kortez Williams is ready to have a big senior season. “I look forward to playing Everett and East Lansing. Always a big crowd at each game!” He recently received a roster offer from Aurora University and expects more as his senior season plays out. Williams wants to become one of the top guards in Michigan and be a leader and a positive role model in the community. His Sexton team hopes to reach the Breslin Center this season. Kortez Williams points to the tradition at Sexton with players like Denzel Valentine and Bryan Forbes. “If they can do it, why can’t we?”
If a school is looking for a tough point slashing point guard, than they should consider Kortez Williams. He will bring hard work and leadership to any program.
