Prospect Spotlight: Jules Bikoy (2020)
Jules Bikoy, a class of 2020 guard at St. Mary’s Ryken, is coming off an excellent run of play in summer league, and appears set to make an impact in his sophomore season. We had heard good things about this young man from his head coach Walter Booth, and we were impressed by his workout on Friday.
“I would like to say i am an athletic player who can get downhill, shoot the three, and also create for teammates,” said Bikoy of his overall game. “Just talking, communication is very important on the court and that’s something that most people don’t realize.”
Bikoy says the two most improved parts of his game in recent months are his ball handling, and shooting . Those are the things he says he’s really worked on over the summer. He’s still working on being a more consistent shooter, and being able to handle the ball even better.
“Last year my GPA was around a 3.0, which leaves room for improvement,” Bikoy said of his academic status. “Right now I’m fighting for a starting spot, but I have something to prove. I’ve been slept on for years now.”
Bikoy is not shy about his goals for the upcoming season. He quite clearly wants to make a splash in his first year of varsity ball.
“I want to bring home a WCAC championship back to Ryken, and make an All-WCAC team.”
What can Bikoy bring to a college program?
“I believe that I am a leader who can definitely take over a game on both ends of the floor. Those are definitely things I can bring to a college team.”
