Prep Hoops: SCBCA Elite Camp Guards (2018)
Prep Hoops SC took in the SCBCA Elite Camp at Ben Lippen School this past weekend. The camp showcased some of the talent we have to offer here in the Palmetto State. Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some of the 2018 guards that were in attendance.
Devon Busby Lewisville HS (Richburg) 2018
Busby 5’10 guard transferred from Rock Hill HS to Lewisville HS this season. Busby showed great patience with the ball today. Busby showed he could hit the open three and create a mid-range shot. Busby also could drive to basket and create turnovers on the defense side of the ball.
Bradley Childers Gaffney HS (2018)
Childers athletic 5’11 combo guard is quick off the dribble to basket. Childers plays with a high motor on both sides of the floor. Childers known to be a shooter is looking to have a break out season for the Gaffney Indians.
Malcom Kennedy York HS (2018) (Photo on Front)
Kennedy can score both sides of the three-point arch. Kennedy will look to lead the Cougars.
Sam Gravley Greer HS (2018)
Gravley a 6’1 guard. Gravley can create his own shot. Gravley can hit from mid-range and extend it out behind the 3 point line. Gravley plays with a good feel to the game.
Robert Swanson Myrtle Beach HS (2018)
Swanson 5’10 point guard has a very high basketball IQ. Swanson a mainstay in the Seahawks back court for Head Coach Craig Martin has been on the varsity since his freshman season. Swanson can really turn the corner with the ball and uses the bounce pass to perfection. Swanson can shoot from almost anywhere on the floor.
Trevon Jenkins Seneca HS (2018)
Jenkins a very athletic 5’11 combo guard is always around the ball. Jenkins will dive on the floor and will guard his man. Jenkins a pesky defender isn’t afraid to get on the floor for a loose ball either.
College programs should start looking into these 2018 guards for next season.
