Palmetto State : Region 6-AAAAA Players to Watch Seniors
Region 6-AAAAA lost a few players this season when players decided to transfer out to new locations. Prep Hoops takes a look at the senior class in this region this season.
Jimmy Nichols (2018) – Conway HS (pictured on front)
Nichols is off the board already and headed to Providence next season. Nichols a left-handed forward visited the Friars earlier this fall and that’s all it took. Nichols averaged 16 ppg last season for the Tigers last season. Nichols played on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit with Garner Road this summer.
Nichols is ranked #4 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class.
Juwan Moody (2018) – Conway HS
Moody will take his talents to East Carolina University for football next fall. Moody excels on the football field as a wideout for the Tigers.
Darren Grainger (2018) – Conway HS
Grainger is playing quarterback this season for the Tigers on the football field. Grainger 6’4 didn’t play last season on the hardwood after being injured. Grainger is a very versatile athlete who could play at the college level in either sport.
Andrew Gardner (2018) – Socastee HS
Gardner recently committed to Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, NC for next season. Gardner is ranked #27 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class. Gardner 6’7 likes to play out on the perimeter and has a good skill set.
Kendrell Generette (2018) – Socastee HS
Generette can slash to the rack or stalk the baseline. Generette has the ability to score at all 3 levels on the floor. Generette ran the AAU season with Manzer Basketball Club.
Landon Dorsey (2018) – South Florence HS
Dorsey is a bit of a one-trick pony on the floor. Dorsey is on the floor to hit shots for the Bruins. Dorsey will the senior spokesman for the young Bruins squad this season.
Isaih Moore (2018) – Sumter HS
Moore 6’7 has really come on strong the past few seasons after having a late growth spurt. Moore won the Region Player of the Year last season for the Gamecocks. Moore is ranked #7 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class.
Moore and Nichols will battle for Player of the Year honors this season in the region. Expect both Sumter HS and Conway HS to play for the region championship.
Cameron Singleton (2018) – Sumter HS
Singleton a point guard is back with the Gamecocks after playing at nearby Laurence Manning Academy. Singleton will run the show for Head Coach Shawn Jones this season.
Juan Perez (2018) – West Florence HS
Perez 6’6 post player will look to lead the Knights this season with the departure of Sharone Wright Jr and Travion McCray. Perez averaged 6.1 ppg and 10.6 rebounds last season for the 20-6 Knights. Perez is ranked #84 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class. Perez is a solid student in the classroom.
