Palmetto State: Region 2-AAAA Players to Watch

Pantry McKinney (2018) Eastside HS (Taylors) (Photo on the front)
McKinney 6’0 point guard that is ranked #58 in Prep Hoops 2018 Class in the Palmetto State. McKinney was named to the Class 4A All-State Team and the Region 2-AAAA player of the year. McKinney is the leader of the Eagles team and plays with a very unselfish attitude on the floor. McKinney helped lead the Eagles to the Region 2-AAAA title and to Class 4A Upper State Championship game against Wren.
Sam Gravley (2018) Greer HS
Gravley 6’1 shooting guard averaged 12.3 ppg and 3.9 rebounds last season for the Yellow Jackets. Gravley played with Upward Stars Upstate Blue 17 this past summer. Gravley a system player pops off screens for open looks and knocks down shots at a high percentage. Gravley shoots the 3 ball and likes to set up shop in the left corner of the floor.
Ryan Pearson (2018) Greer HS
Pearson plays in the post for the Yellow Jackets. Pearson 6’4 is a deceptive athlete that can step-out and knockdown shots. Pearson is a very vocal player out on the floor calling out screens and recognizing defenses. Pearson played with Upward Stars Upstate Blue 17 this past summer. Pearson averaged 4.3 ppg and 4.4 rebounds a game.
Will Satterfield (2018) Travelers Rest HS
Satterfield5’9 guard for the Devil Dogs. Satterfield averaged 8.5 ppg and grabbed 2.4 rebounds a game for the Devil Dogs. Satterfield will pop out for the jumper and go hard to hole. Satterfield will look to help the Devil Dogs win the Region 2-AAAA title.
Magic Moody (2019) Greer HS
Moody averaged 15.7 ppg, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Yellow Jackets last season. Moody played this summer for SC Supreme on the Adidas Circuit and GSP Unified this summer. Moody transferred from Spartanburg Day School before landing at Greer HS. Moody was named to the All-Region and to All-County this past season.Moody a left-handed guard has a knack to score the ball.
Case Roach (2020) Travelers Rest HS
Roach is that glue guy who does a bit of everything on the floor. Roach 6’3 averaged 7.8 ppg last season for the Devil Dogs. Roach really does a good job of recognizing defenses and being vocal on the floor. Roach and Brown played AAU together with GSP Unified.
Derrick Fields (2020) Travelers Rest HS
Fields 6’3 started off playing with GSP Unified before switching to Karolina Khaos 15U Gold this July. Fields saw great minutes as freshman for the Devil Dogs where he averaged 10.1 ppg. Fields is a magnet for the ball and really defends the passing lanes well. Fields fills the lane in transition and at times is looking to bring the ball up the court. Fields plays wide receiver on the gridiron. Fields is a very versatile who could play 1-3 positions on the floor.
Sam Brown (2020) Travelers Rest HS
Brown has been home-schooled all his life. Brown hits the mid-range pull-up jumper and can really knock down shots when his feet are set. Brown 6’2 has a brother that plays at Furman University.
