Palmetto State : Chucktown Shooters
Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some of the top shooters coming out of the Charleston area in the 2018 class.
Bryson Rose – Academic Magnet (pictured on front)
Rose made over 120 three pointers last season to set the SCHSL State Record for the Raptors. Rose averaged 19.5 ppg last season for the Raptors. Academic Magnet fell in the playoffs to Calhoun County last February. Rose eclipsed the 1,000 point club last season to boot. Rose didn’t play AAU this summer.
Aaron Nesmith – Porter Gaud
Nesmith is ranked #2 in the 2018 Palmetto State Class. Nesmith a Vanderbilt commit will look to lead the Cyclones back for a 3rd straight SCISA State Championship. Nesmith averaged 18.4 ppg last season. Nesmith played this summer on the AAU Circuit with TMP which finished in 2nd Place at the Super Showcase in Orlando, FL.
Skylar Williams – West Ashley HS
Williams has converted into a combo guard but seems to be better off the ball. Williams the leader of the Wildcats offense played with the Karolina Khaos this summer. Williams averaged 17.6 ppg last season. Williams and his his teammates could make a strong run to Columbia next March with the talent they have on the roster.
Starke Salmons – James Island HS
Salmons is back for the Trojans this season after playing AAU with the Premier Jammers this summer. Salmons averaged 17 ppg last season for Head Coach Stan Wilkins.
Isaiah Archie – Oceanside Collegiate (Mount Pleasant)
Archie is back at Oceanside Collegiate for Head Coach Jermel President. The Landsharks are now located in Mount Pleasant. Archie a point guard averaged 12.9 ppg last season.
Walker Lima – Pinewood Prep
Lima a spot shooter returns to Pinewood Prep this season. Lima a bull eyes shooter played this summer with Palmetto Elite. Lima should see his numbers increase with the departure of several seniors to graduation.
