Overall Prospect Rankings: #16 – #20
In September we released our rankings for the classes of 2018 and 2019. What if you took those classes along with 2020 and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like!
Today we unveil prospects #16 – #20!
#16 SG Javon Freeman (Whitney Young – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Freeman is one of the best seniors in the Chicago Public League. He is a slick scoring two guard that weaves his way in and out of defenses getting to the rack. An underrated part of his game is his passing getting others involved from the off guard position.
#17 SF Bryant Brown (Waukegan – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #20
Brown is an uber athlete that projects well long term. The 6’5” small forward has good length and athleticism on the wing where he can slide over and play some small ball four at times. Best in the open floor attacking and playing off his raw physical gifts.
#18 PF Chris Payton (Bloomington – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Payton is a bouncy four man from central Illinois that is explosive around the hoop. Finishes with power at the rim both with alley-oop slams and hitting offensive glass. Shot blocking presence with his pogo like jumping ability. Plays with toughness and aggression.
#19 PG Kendle Moore (Danville – 2018)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Moore is a slick 2018 point guard out of Danville that should be the leader for one of the best teams in central Illinois. He plays with tremendous speed in the open floor and can win off the bounce. More of a scoring point guard that gets to the rack and has greatly improved his perimeter shot.
#20 C Ciaran Brayboy (New Trier – 2019)
Last Year’s Rank: #29
Brayboy is a broad shouldered center that is more projectability and upside at this stage of the process. He has the physical tools that project well long term. Brayboy flashes those skills, but it isn’t on a consistent basis. Has back to the basket scoring potential to go along with rebounding and rim protection upside.
