Let’s Get Ready Basketball Camp: Stars and Top Performers
In its first year, the ‘Let’s Get Ready Basketball Camp’ was a showcase of talent from around the state. The camp was held October 21-22 at Freeland Sports Zone. Young high school talent was especially prevalent.
Day one of the camp began with Coach Dell Johnson leading a brief warmup session. The players then broke into groups, where skill training was emphasized. The camp stressed the fundamentals of shooting, defense, footwork, and ball handling. After the skill training sessions, live play began. On day one of the ‘Let’s Get Ready Basketball Camp’, game play was fast paced and intense. Players pushed tempo and got buckets.
Day two of the ‘Let’s Get Ready Basketball Camp’ started out much the same with a warmup and group skill training. Game play took a different feel though. The players buckled down on the defensive end. Baskets were tougher to come by and play was physical.
