5 Years From Now: Who Could We Be Watching In The NBA?
Almost all high school basketball players have dreams of making the jump to college basketball. Some even have dreams of playing in the NBA someday. The state of Michigan has had a good number of players who have been successful in that dream. Below you’ll find three Michigan high school basketball players who have characteristics, traits, and skills that could get them to the highest level.
Gabe Brown (2018, Forward, Belleville)
First is the obvious: He’s a long 6-7 wing with upside for days. He’s an athlete who can get to the rim and shoot from the outside. There’s way more to Gabe Brown than the basics. He plays the game with an unmatched passion. He will never be outworked or out hustled because he plays the game with his heart. Players with his type of passion for the game, along with the physical tools, have a step ahead in the dream of playing in the NBA.
Rashad Williams (2018, Guard, Wayne Memorial)
Fulfilling the NBA dream takes a tremendous amount of extra work and effort. That being said, an athlete like Williams is a step ahead. His day starts and ends in the gym. And it’s not empty gym time. He goes in and works and fine tunes his game in an intense practice environment. Rashad Williams has quite possibly improved more than any other player in Michigan since the spring of 2016, and that could continue.
Trevion Williams (2018, Forward, Henry Ford Academy SCS)
What can’t he do? In today’s almost positionless NBA, a player who is 6-8, can rebound, score, put the ball on the floor, and run the open floor is highly desired. Williams is too good at too many things to not include him on this list. He is an explosive player who can dominate the post. His versatility may end up setting him apart and opening the door to the NBA.
