2A Frontrunners: Marquette Catholic
The season is getting closer and closer and we are starting to dive into the rosters and Sectionals that will help to determine who are the top competition for each class. Today, we take a look into 2A and the frontrunners. Today, we breakdown Marquette Catholic.

Why A Frontrunner: Of the five teams we preview in 2A Frontrunners, only Marquette Catholic was able to get past Sectionals last year. They did it last year and made it all the way to Semistate before losing to State Champ, Frankton. They did it with their leading scorer as a sophomore in Colin Kenney (17.2ppg). This team returns a lot including Kenney who should be someone to watch as a potential top scorer in the state. Along with him, Joe Andershock has really improved and should give them a legit inside-out presence. This team was only a 2-point overtime loss from being in the State Finals last year. They have a balanced starting lineup and should have the type of offense that is hard to game plan against.
Outlook: This team has a lot of expectations this season as they could be one of the best teams out of the Region. They get setup in a very easy Sectional that is all but locked up. They would then likely meet up with Westview in Regionals and then Oak Hill if they make it to Semistate. That would be a fun game with a lot of points put up if we get it. It is within reason they make it back to Semistate and once there, anything can happen. Their schedule during the regular season is easy enough and they should continue their 5-year streak of 18 wins or more.
