Yahuza Rasas to Lindenwood
St.Mary’s 2018 power forward Yahuza Rasas has committed to Lindenwood. This is an outstanding get for the D2 program! He was a prospect that their coaching staff prioritized and they landed his commitment late Wednesday night. He told us why they were his choice.
“I chose them because it was close to home, a chance for me to improve my game, get better, and leave a legacy. I’m big on legacy.”
The relationship he built with Head Coach Lance Randall along with assistants Dana Morgan, Ryan Hamm, and Blaine Mueller played a huge part in this decision.
“I have much respect for the coaches and staff. I can just feel it. They’ll push me to get every drop out of me. That’s exactly what I look into for a coach. They will get the best of me I’ll make sure.
We are huge fans of this 6’6” power forward. Rasas is an energy four man that has a big time motor! He is constantly moving and plays hard every possession. The athletic post is a plus rebounder that snatches them with his strong hands and high points the ball. Fights hard on the defensive end getting under his opponents skin. Moves laterally on the defensive end and is more than comfortable defending a ball screen. Offensively he is fairly raw with most of his points coming on put backs and dump offs. Does flash however including high/low finishes and a mid-range jumper on occasion.
Rasas is the #20 overall prospect and #6 power forward in the current PrepHoopsMissouri 2018 Rankings. He played on the travel team circuit with Ramey-Jets United!
