Prospect Spotlight: Tre’vorious Dotson (2020)
Class of 2020, freshman guard standing at 6’2 Tre’vorious Dotson is a handful at the guard position. His sophomore campaign should help him develop a buzz with some of the local colleges around the area…
Tre brings exactly what you what from a PG on the floor, he’s a low turnover player that makes the simple play instead of the spectacular play. He brings defensive energy and is a very good communicator with his teammates and coaches. Shoots the deep ball very well but doesn’t settle for that, good passer.
Plain and simple, this young man knows how to win games. He isn’t the tallest player, but he plays with the type of energy that makes you completely overlook his size. Helped lead his team deep into the playoffs just about every season since he’s been playing varsity basketball. proven winner.
Tre is a shifty scoring guard that is a load to handle for any defender in isolation. Tre uses nice change of direction and change of speed dribbles to create space on his defender in order to get clean looks in the paint. On several possessions he was able to turn his defender’s feet before getting to the rack and finishing with an excellent floater and was able to finish layups through contact a few times as well. He has excellent size for a sophomore-to-be, his poise and confidence at that age is clearly at a high level. Tre looks to be a top 10 guard in Washington for the 2020 class with potential to be a Division I prospect.
This young man has the ability to be a game changer. He can really run the floor and set up plays for himself and others. I believe that with his continued development and playing in the 4A divisor. He will receive some exposure, which I believe will ultimately lead to a offer from either a D2 or D3 level.
