Prospect Spotlight: Mutdung Bol (2020)
Class of 2020, 6’2 guard, Mutdung Bol of Edmonds Woodway HS is a wiry guard with some shift to his game. Most definitely will start to yield some mid major D1 and D2 offers by next year.
Currently, Bol came off the bench last season and provided a spark for the Warriors and he’s done just that. Bol is a lanky 6’2, with extremely long arms and legs. But he’s also very smooth and has good ball handling skills for such a young and lanky player. He even has a bit of touch on his shot that always looks nice coming out of his hands. You can tell this young man still has a lot of growing to do. He’s got such long arms and long body it looks as if he will get to a solid 6’8 before he’s done growing.
He’s got good frame and a athletic build. Nice strength. Like the physical tools with this 2020 point guard. He has potential to be a plus defender if he wants to lock in on that end of the floor. Solid ball handler that attacks in transition. Streaky shooter that far too often settles for jump shots from three when he doesn’t shoot it at that high of a rate.
As only a freshman last season, Bol hasn’t thought too much about playing at the next level, but is interested in the thought of playing college basketball. But he wants to take his basketball career one step at a time and most importantly work as hard as he can to become the best player he can become.
“I am a versatile guard who takes pride in my defense,” Bol said while describing himself.
Defensively, Bol’s long arms are a definite tool, but he also moves his feet and stays in front his opponent while bodying them up as much as he can.
“I can score in different ways, handle the ball and take on a leadership role,” Bol said. “I do need to work on getting stronger and being more consistent though.”
