Prospect Spotlight: Ladarius Cuyler (2018)
Class of 2018 6’2 forward Ladarius Cuyler has been playing big man on the block for the rams and looks to step out and play more of a wing role this season.
A versatile all-around athlete who SHOULD garner collegiate interest in basketball. He plays a lot of point forwards at times for the rams, where he is able to use his size to pass and shoot over smaller guards. I was most impressed with his mid range jumper, where he goes downhill and stops hard on the dime to unleash a feathery jumper from 15 feet. Ladarius is also a pretty good ball handler and passer.
Ladarius Cuyler left his mark on each and every game on last season. He attacked the glass relentlessly and made strong moves inside the paint. He finished well around the basket well with both hands. His athleticism showed out on the break in transition with some tough finishes. He looked comfortable facing the basket as well as scoring with his back to the basket. Long, athletic forward with the ability to impact a game in multiple facets.
Ladarius was most effective around the rim and within fifteen feet last season. He used his strength and aggressiveness to get to the rim and finish. He made strong moves with this back to the basket and hit the fifteen-footer with consistency. He has improved on his ball handling skills and is making better decisions with his passes on the move. Strong forward with face-up and back to the basket game.
