Prospect Spotlight: Dallas Green (2020)
Carman-Ainsworth 6-foot-3 small forward Dallas Green is starting to make a name for himself around Michigan hops circles — and could bust out of his seams soon.
With decent size, a versatile skill-set and a desire to improve, Green could soon be one of 2020’s top prospects.
“I’m a rangy-type wing, I can shoot the open 3, and I can attack and take it to the hole. I’m not selfish, I pass the ball a lot. I like to drive and kick out and get my teammates the ball and be a leader,” said Green during a recent phone interview.
“I’m improving my shot, always improving my shot. And I’m working on my mid-range a little bit more, and just learning how to be a leader.”
This past spring and summer, Green was playing primarily with Flint’s Finest 15U, and some with Greenwood Elite.
“We did pretty good,” he said. “Pretty much my summer was real eventful, and I picked up a lot of interest.”
As his sophomore season draws near with the Cavaliers, Green explained to PHMI what his role might be.
“I played a big role on my JV team last year, and was still in a learning role, just getting ready for varsity,” he said. “This year, I’ll be on varsity, and I’ll be like a sixth-man, and I’m just going to play my role, really.”
As for his recruitment, there’s still plenty of time for that. But there’s one Michigan program with the inside track on him.
“I went to U of D’s camp, and they reached out to my coach and want to see me play again,” said Green. “And that’s really it for now.”
