Program MVP: Jack Halverson
Who was the MVP of each grassroots team program this past spring and summer? This might not necessarily be the best player although in many cases it is. We are looking at the player from Illinois that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
Windy City Magic is a program that has consistently produced D3/NAIA players and occasion will have a star emerge like Max Strus did a few years ago. This year the team was led by a trio of guys in guard Jake Pygon and Jason Pygon along with forward Jack Halverson. It was a close call, but we give our program MVP to Peotone power forward Jack Halverson. He is a skilled face up power forward with a long and lanky frame. He handles well for his size as the 2018 forward is more than comfortable attacking from the perimeter after taking posts out of their comfort zones. Finishes extremely well through contact converting and-1s and shielding the ball away from defenders. Makes some tough up and unders. High level D3/NAIA prospect. He was particularly impressive with his play at the Spiece Run N Slam event in May.
Congratulations to Peotone 2018 power forward Jack Halverson on winning the PrepHoopsIllinois Program MVP for Windy City Magic.
