Prep Hoops Expo 250 : 2020 Players
The future looks good here in the Palmetto State. Prep Hoops takes a look at some 2020 kids that took part in the Prep Hoops 250 Expo this past weekend in Myrtle Beach.
Myles Tate – Dorman HS
Tate is ranked #1 in the Prep Hoops 2020 class. Tate has seen action on the Cavaliers since his 8th grade season. Tate helped lead the Cavaliers to a 5-A State Championship this past March. Tate even capped off the day nailing a half-court shot to win the game.
CJ Plantin – Legacy Early College (Greenville)
Plantin transferred into the Lions from nearby Pendleton HS. Plantin left-handed combo forward is mismatch at times on the floor. Plantin explodes to the cup to finish around the rim.
Emorie Knox – Myrtle Beach HS
Knox is a jet quick point guard who can turn the corner as good as anyone in the Palmetto State. Knox is ranked #6 in the 2020 class.
Justin Amadi – Hillcrest HS
Amadi was impressive during the camp either owning the glass and even stepped out to the perimeter a few times. Amadi is physically mature and will even bigger in the years to come.
Rayshon Harrison – Christ Church
Harrison shot the lights out of the ball today. Harrison 6’2 guard has a quick shot release. Harrison knocked down several three pointers today.
Malik Wiles – Legacy Early College (Greenville)
Wiles transferred into Legacy Early College from nearby Broome HS. Wiles averaged 7.2 ppg last season for the Centurions. Wiles will play in a talented back court for Head Coach BJ Jackson this season.
Quentin Hodge – Lakewood HS (Sumter)
Hodge is competing on the football field for the Gators as a wide receiver here this fall. Hodge 6’5 played last season at South Florence HS. Hodge is great defender with length.
Javon Benson – Ridge View HS
Benson 6’7 attended Westwood HS last season. Benson has a man body at a young age. Benson extended the defense when he knocked down some 15-17 footers. Benson has big hands and great reactions in the paint.
Quintin Crawford – Ridge View HS
Crawford scored the ball on the wing today. Crawford 6’2 connected on some nice mid-range jumpers. Benson and Crawford played AAU this summer with Team United South Carolina Black.
Cameron Spain – Socastee HS
Spain will look to get quality minutes this season the Braves roster with the departure of Jason Cudd. Spain 6’6 played last summer with Knox on the Myrtle Beach Phenoms. Spain has a long wingspan and runs the floor well.
Drayton Benjamin – Spartanburg HS
Benjamin 6’5 plays with his back to the basket and finished around the basket today. Watson should look to contribute to the Vikings roster this season.
Luke Gilsdorf – Spartanburg HS
Gilsdorf a left-handed off guard connected on some three pointers today. Gilsdorf who is home-schooled played with the Carolina Chargers AAU this summer.
Jahnarious Snell – Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS
Snell has a chance to breakout this season for the Bruins. Snell is a shot-maker and should be given a good chance to see some quality time this year for new Head Coach Willie Thomas.
Jamal McDuffie – Florence Christian
McDuffie 6’3 played around the rim today and finished on contact on a few occasions. McDuffie should join forces with EJ Porter this season for the Eagles.
I’rek Hartwell – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Hartwell was pleasant surprise today at the camp. Hartwell really got after on and off the floor. Cheering on teammates or taking a charge. Great attitude.
AJ Vaught – Pee Dee Academy (Mullins)
Vaught is small in stature but that doesn’t make him back down to anyone on the floor. Vaught 5’6 left-handed guard was able to get to the rack and hit some mid-range jumpers today.
