Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some of the top players from Region 7 2-A in this article.
Quinton Alston (2018) – Kingstree HS (pictured on the front)
Alston is the leading scorer back in the region. Alston 6’5 is like a swiss army knive he does a bit of everything. Alston a 3-sport athlete for the Jaguars averaged 18.6 ppg and 7.2 rebounds last season. Earl Brown is the new head coach of the Jaguars this season.
Jordan Cantey (2018) – Kingstree HS
Cantey played AAU with Upward Stars Southeast 2018 this summer on a limited basis. Cantey prefers to play on the perimeter but, will play more inside this coming season. Cantey 6’6 averaged 12.9 ppg and 6 rebounds last season.
Dijon Goss (2018) – Carvers Bay HS (Hemingway)
Goss 6’4 is a very quiet kid that really keeps to himself. Goss didn’t play any AAU ball and plays wide receiver on the football team. Goss a small forward has a very high arching shot. Goss more than likely will need to entertain the junior college route for next season. Goss averaged 13.5 ppg last season for the 18-6 Bears.
Carvers Bay HS is located in the Choppee Community in Georgetown County.
BJ Blue (2018) – Marion HS
Blue a shooting guard has been a fixture here for the Swamp Foxes the past few seasons. Blue averaged 9.2 ppg and 4 rebounds last season. The Swamp Foxes finished the season at 18-6.
Kenley Vereen (2018) – Andrews HS

Carrele Cooper (2020) – Andrews HS
Cooper could be the newcomer of the year in this region. Cooper a slender-sleek guard keeps the ball on a string and really has the ability to turn the corner. Cooper has great court awareness on the floor. Cooper played AAU with South Carolina Coastal Elite.
