Palmetto State – Region 6-AAA Players to Watch
Region 6-AAA is not a basketball powered region that’s for sure. Lets take a look at some of prospects right here in this article. Dillon is the top team in this region this coming season.
Darius Boatwright (2019) – Dillon HS (pictured on front)
Boatwright is for sure the most talented player in this region. Boatwright 6’7 small forward showed glimpses of really breaking out last season for the Wildcats. Boatwright glides all over the floor with his long wingspan and has good skill set to play on the perimeter. Boatwright can stroke the 3 ball on a regular basis when given the chance.
Boatwright helped the Wildcats to the 3A State Championship Game last season versus Greenville Southside.
Tyquan Porter (2018) – Dillon HS
Porter left-handed guard really excels on the football field for the Wildcats. Porter will entertain NCAA D1 offers on the gridiron this spring.
Darrell Gardner (2020) – Georgetown HS
Gardner was a pleasant surprise recently at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo with his play. Gardner brings a great blue collar attitude to the floor for the Bulldogs and Head Coach Mike Ford.
Darius McGirt (2018) – Georgetown HS
McGirt is a athletic wing player that likes to get out in transition.
Travis Walters (2018) – Loris HS
Walters 6’2 undersized post player just gets it done in the paint for the Lions. Walters knows where his bread is buttered to be effective. Walters plays so much bigger than his size in the paint.
Jahrique Isaiah (2019) – Loris HS
Isaiah recently had a strong showing at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo in Myrtle Beach. Isaiah plays wide receiver for the Lions. Isaiah brings a toughness and grit to the floor when he plays in the Lions back court.
Tyshaun Richardson (2019) – Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island)
Richardson is a tough kid that dives all over the floor. Richardson tends to want to play fast most of the time is a down hill driver to the basket. Richardson needs to pump the breaks at times.
Connor Heimberger (2018) – Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island)
Heimberger 5’10 left-handed guard is a small college prospect for the Warriors. Heimberger averaged 10.5 ppg last season for the 15-10 Warriors.
Lake City HS lost its best player this summer when Tyrek Epps decided to transfer over to King’s Academy in Florence. Epps (2018) is a 5’10 point guard that played AAU with TMP this summer.
