Palmetto State : Region 3-A Players to Watch
Region 3-A has some really good up and coming talent here in the Palmetto State. This region is located south of Interstate-20 and located in western South Carolina.
Adonis Davis (2021) – Blackville-Hilda HS (Blackville)
Davis has been a fixture for Blackville-Hilda Hawks on the varsity basketball team as a 7th grader. Davis a left-handed guard is coming into his own after having a good summer with the Central Carolina Force. Davis is lacking a true position on the floor year but just does a bit of everything on the floor for your team to win the game.
Harold Johnson (2020) – Denmark-Olar HS
Johnson a left-handed guard has played since his 8th grade season. Johnson has a nice mid-range game.
Malik Palmer (2020) – Denmark-Olar HS
Palmer and Johnson both play AAU with Central Carolina Force. Palmer is the quarterback on the Vikings football team.
Jacquez Shuler (2020) – Denmark-Olar HS
Shuler 6’5 is one of the 3 sophomores that should see plenty of playing time for the Vikings this season. Shuler is still still growing and is a RAW talent currently. Shuler played AAU with the Orangeburg Xpress this summer.
Tyson Bettis (2018) – Ridge Spring-Monetta HS (Monetta)
Bettis is the leader on this team and also the quarterback on the football team. Bettis 6’1 guard is a great overall athlete for the Trojans.
Melvin Alewine (2018) – Ridge Spring-Monetta HS (Monetta)
Alewine 6’3 is a rugged undersized post player that also plays football.
Marlow Gilmore (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Gilmore is the best player in the region here for the Trojans. Gilmore a ultra athletic wing player can play above the rim. Gilmore 6’5 left-handed averaged close to 20 ppg and 11.5 rebounds last season for the Trojans. Gilmore played with the Columbia Hoyas on the AAU circuit last summer.
Camry James (2019) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
James 5’10 off guard likes to play 94 feet on both ends of the floor. James a pesky defender is always looking to play fast.
Desmond Murray (2019) – Williston-Elko HS (Williston) (pictured on front)
Murray is a tweener on the floor for the Blue Devils. Murray played in the paint for the Aiken Select AAU team but can really run the well and get into position on the offensive end. Murray still needs to work on his perimeter skills.
Keshawn Toney (2019) – Williston-Elko HS (Williston)
Toney looks to be leaning toward playing college football. Toney 6’3 (220) has received strong interest from Georgia State University and has made some unofficial visits to Georgia Tech in the past year. Toney plays tight end for the Blue Devils.
Quan Frazier (2018) – Wagener-Salley HS (Wagener)
Frazier 5’7 point guard is jet quick in the open the floor.
