Gabe Bryant (2018)- The Gardner-Webb commit has made his name as a powerful dunker, but he is developing into more than that. Bryant and the Dorman staff are working very hard to advance his game; he is becoming more refined in the post by adding touch and a better understanding of positioning and footwork on the block.
Harris Finley (2018)- Finley was quite impressive on Monday. The senior guard can play either on or off the ball and does well in both roles. He is a solid ball-handler and showed good distributing ability; he excels in drive and kick situations and can create his own shot off the dribble. Off the ball, Finley spaces the floor very well and can’t be left open on the perimeter. He could be a good pickup for a lower level school.
PJ Hall (2020)- Hall had an excellent summer on the travel circuit and continues to prove that he will be an attractive prospect over the next few years. Hall is versatile for a young post, showing a soft touch around the basket and on perimeter shots. The 6’8″ sophomore runs the floor hard, rebounds well, and is an effective shot-blocker also. Hall should be a steady contributor on this senior-filled team.
Kamron Smith (2018)- Smith is one of those players that coaches love. He brings great energy on defense every possession and makes ball-handlers uncomfortable. His motor is non-stop on both sides of the floor and this creates opportunities for the team frequently. On offense, Smith makes things happen with his quickness and penetration ability, and showed some flashes shooting from the outside.
Ethan Parton (2018)- Another productive guard for the Cavaliers, Parton does a little bit of everything for the team. He can shoot from the perimeter, create off the bounce, and even sneaks in for offensive rebounds from time to time. His willingness to do whatever the team needs is a great quality.
Lucas Peppers (2018)- Peppers may not be the tallest forward you’ll find, but his body is a great asset. He has a big, wide build that he uses to carve out space and bully opponents. Peppers is a solid rebounder and finishes well inside also. He brings toughness and physicality that will be a big boost for this team.
Trey Downing (2018)- Downing should be a steady contributor on the wing for Dorman. He is extremely athletic and uses his athleticism to contest shots at the rim consistently. Downing shoots fairly well from deep and is effective in transition when he runs hard. If the Cavaliers can get intensity and energy from Downing all the time, he will have a very good season.
Ceejay Miller (2018)- Miller brings more versatility on the perimeter for the team. He has a strong body and can defend multiple positions. On offense, Miller is a respectable shooter and is not afraid to mix it up inside either. Miller does not require a lot of touches to be effective and makes the most of his opportunities.
Anfernie Smith (2019)- It seems that Smith will be an outside specialist for Dorman. He was lights-out from deep on Monday, getting himself open and connecting time and time again. The team has some shooting ability already, but if Smith can be that guy who brings a spark off the bench with his shooting, it will help greatly.
