Recruiting Report: Jared Hofer (2018)
A possible addition to a growing power in Fort Wayne could really help both the team and the transfer with sustained success this coming year. The school and player in question are Blackhawk Christian (IN) and Jared Hofer.
Hofer, a 6’9 post with legit size and strength, has made the move from Fort Wayne Carroll (IN) to Blackhawk Christian and has joined a loaded roster that should vie for a State Championship in 1A this season. He joins guys like Jalan Mull, Drake Thompson, Luke Sassmannshausen, and others to provide one of the biggest teams in the smaller school classes.
Jared has always been talented but getting consistent run on the floor has been the thing that has been in his way. Now, with health and a roster that should accent his talent, he’s set to have a productive year. He’s a good scorer on the block where he can be physical and his footwork and quickness are surprising to some defenders. In the post, he’s always been productive.
Over the summer, Hofer was able to get healthy and in July he was really started to show some improvements. He was moving well and able to produce against good talent as he played with Team Harris 2018. Now, it is drawing in a few more schools, however, a successful high school season could do a ton for his recruitment.
Right now, he has drawn interest from Hillsdale, Indianapolis, Marian, Siena Heights, and Indiana State. He’s a ways away from a decision but things could start coming into focus sooner rather than later as he builds momentum.
