James Franklin of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis is on the road to recovery. He recently had surgery after the AAU season to help a condition that he has been battling. Franklin lead G3 Grind on the Under Armour Association Circuit this spring and summer.
James was in good spirits following his surgery and ready to hit the road to recovery. “I’m getting better each day.” He had a check-up visit today to find out how his body is recovering and what his timeline looks like.
“It was great getting a chance to play on the circuit in front of so many college coaches. We really moved the ball well and got everyone involved.” He was one of the most impressive players on the circuit as a two-way-player.
As he led his team through games, he was able to do so by being an impact player in just about every category. James is one of the best in the state when it comes to defense. He has quick hands, agile feet, and takes pride in locking down on defense. He was one of the leaders on the UAA Circuit in the steal column all season long.
Franklin started to understand when to take over games in the closing possessions. He really started filling the stat sheet and is one of the better rebounders from the guard position.
“Had a few coaches calling and coming to watch. This year should be even better.” He currently holds an offer from IUPUI as well. James has an interest in studying to become a meteorologist in the future.
James is an inspiration leader on and off the court and has fought through a lot in his basketball career. He is the kind of player who will do anything to help his team win and knows what his role is from team to team.
James is a pass first point guard with length and great court vision. He is going to be a player to keep an eye on as he works through his recovery period and gears up for a standout junior season.
