Recruiting Report: Jalen Justice (2019)
Six-foot-2 guard Jalen Justice of Robbinsdale Cooper is one of the smoothest players in the 2019 class. Justice proved that with the Pulley Panthers this off-season.
“I thought this AAU year went pretty good,” Justice said. “I got to play against some of the top players in the country, which is always good competition. My biggest take away is that I want to be a threat inside and outside not just shooting. I need to get stronger overall.”
Cooper has a lot of young talent and this year Jalen will be the leader for the Hawks in many ways.
“I want to get stronger and be able to make plays on both sides of the court,” Justice explained. “Also, I want to be more consistent. Then I want to work on getting my shot off the dribble and creating for others.”
Justice scored 12.5 points per game last year which was good for second on his team. Jalen returns along with Jalen Miller, Nathan Hill, Trokon Massey, Onte Burns and others.
“We have a lot of players coming back from last year so we didn’t really loose much but we are coming in as the underdogs,” Jalen said. “We have a lot to prove this year and our main goal is to make it to state.
“I’m in the gym working on my game and lifting. As a team we have open gyms and workouts regularly.”
College programs have taken notice of the smooth ability that Jalen brings to the court.
“I’m hearing from Denver, Northern Iowa, Southwest Minnesota State, Western Kentucky, and Nebraska-Omaha,” Jalen said.
What played does Jalen follow regularly as a basketball role model? One of the best.
“I look up to Seth Curry because I want to perfect my craft like his,” Jalen said.
