Recruiting Report: Jaden Terry (2018)
Jaden Terry – 5’11” | PG | Indiana Elite Magic 2018 | Lawrence Central High School
Jaden Terry is becoming one of the best floor generals in the Class of 2018. He really prides himself in being a leader on the floor and doing what it takes to win games. Terry attends Lawrence Central High School where he plays his high school ball. Jaden ran with Indiana Elite Magic 2018 this past spring and summer.
“I think my summer was good. I played well on both ends of the floor, handled pressure, ran my team, attacked the basket, and created for others.”
Terry has really embraced his role as a true point guard as of late. His development as a leader and extension of the coach on the floor has been great to see in the past year.
“I will do anything to win, give every coach my all. I can do whatever a coach wants me to do and fill the role I need to fill.” He’s more about going to battle for his teammates than he is about himself. Coachable, selfless point guard with the ability to get into the lane on a consistent basis and create open opportunities for his teammates.
Jaden is focused on his on-ball defensive footwork, staying out of trouble spots in pressure situations, continuing his development as a leader, and becoming a more consistent shooter. “I want to become a more consistent shooter with the ball in my hands and off the catch and shoot. Also working on changing my speeds.”
He is great at attacking hips and getting his shoulders lower than his defenders. He is strong with the ball and makes smart passes in the open floor.
Jaden is currently receiving interest from Maryville University, Bethel College, Ohio Dominican University, Western Illinois University, and Indiana Tech. He is currently planning on studying Sports Management in college.
As Jaden continues to expand his skill set from the point guard position, he will see his recruiting continue to sprout. He is one of a few pass first point guards in this class who can also consistently stretch the floor. Terry is a player to keep an eye on moving forward from the Indianapolis area.
