Recruiting Report: Jace Link (2018)
Pekin 2018 small forward Jace Link did the little things for the Illinois Irish 17U all spring and summer. He is a gritty glue guy that rebounds, can hit an occasional spot up shot, and makes the extra pass. Just has a nose for the basketball.
Link chatted with us about his summer with the Illinois Irish.
“It has gone good. Our team has been coming together a lot more. We started off a little rough in the spring. In the summer we have really been putting it together.”
How was it with Pekin in June getting ready for next high school season?
“Our high school did pretty well. I am working on being more of a leader for our team and the best player. It should be fun this winter.”
What are the strengths in his game?
“Fast break, attacking, finishing strong around the hoop. Also defensively getting in the passing lane.”
He updated his recruitment.
“I have heard from Monmouth, Illinois Wesleyan, and some small schools in Illinois.”
What will be important in a school for Link?
“Good campus, good coaching staff, and all-around good program.”
Colleges at the D3 and NAIA levels should definitely take a close look at this wing.
