Recruiting Report: Ian Burns (2018)
Class of 2018 wing Ian Burns attends La Salette Academy in central Illinois. He is a 6’5” combo forward that is very athletic. He is bouncy and shows that getting out in transition and finishing above the rim. Also mixes in a few mid-range jumpers. Projectable prospect that would be a nice high ceiling small college prospect. He has a 34 ACT and wants to major in engineering.
How did it go with the KC Pacers 17U in July?
“It has gone really well. I liked it a lot. I have got a lot of opportunities. I think played pretty well. There have been a couple not so great tournaments, but then there have been a couple of really good ones.”
He saw great improvement in his perimeter game.
“Shooting definitely and I have a lot more composure under pressure I think.”
What are the biggest strengths he can bring to a team at the next level?
“I think shooting and defense are the two biggest things I can bring to a team.”
Burns updated us on his recruitment.
“There have been a couple coaches contacting me like Illinois Tech and Milwaukee School of Engineering.”
What does he like about those two programs?
“Those are the two that have contacted me the most. I have seen a couple different schools, but I think those two with the coaches and teams have appealed to me the most.”
